Aasvoëlkrans Cave
Aasvoelkrans Cave accommodates 8 people and is approximately 3.9km's from the Highmoor Reserve parking area. This is a relatively easy hike. The cave itself is a "double story" cave and sleeping would generally be at the bottom cave.
Their is a steep drop from the top cave and a climb down from the bottom cave to the lovely pool and waterfall. For these reasons this cave is not suitable for young (under 10) children without supevision.
This is a comfortable cave, although quite sandy with lots of loose gravel. Water supply is abundent all year round and the cave is well shletered from strong winds and rain.

Brilliant hike but beware - not easy at the end
Its 4km from the gate to the start of the descent for the cave & pools. At a good pace, takes 45 minutes. There's no shade on the trail so plan accordingly. The home down from path to caves is brutal on the knees. There's 2 options. 1 steps & the other a sharp suicide path.
Pools need a bit of adventurous navigation but well worth it.
The hike up is brutal. Especially on the knees.
Definitely recommend.
