Rainbow Gorge Hike

Rainbow Gorge is reached from Cathedral Peak Hotel via the slopes below Tryme Hill and the river valley. A shorter walk is about 2 hours (5.5 km); the hotel allows about 4.5 to 5 hours return for its full gorge outing. Farther into the gorge, the trail enters a shady forest and crosses the river several times before reaching a large boulder wedged between the walls. Wet rock and high water can slow progress, especially after rain, so leave enough time to return from your chosen turning point.
