Vast Cave is a deep overhang in the Bushman’s Nek area of the Southern Drakensberg. The walk from the reserve offices is about 6 km each way, giving a return outing of roughly 12 km. The final approach climbs to the cave.
The large overhang makes a memorable destination, but shelter depends on the weather and wind direction. Book ahead if staying overnight, and leave time to enjoy the valley as well as the cave.
