Hatimba Buttress is an outlying buttress in the Hlathimbe mountain country of Lotheni, east of the main escarpment. Redi rises to the north-west, while the Hlathimbe pass gullies cut through the escarpment to the west.

This is part of the rugged buttress-and-valley landscape seen from the Hlathimbe North Cave area. The buttress is a separate feature from the Hlathimbe North Pass and Hlathimbe South Pass; using one of those passes does not itself include a buttress ascent.

Explore the Lotheni area: Lotheni lies in a secluded part of the southern Drakensberg along the Lotheni River. Its walking routes explore river valleys, grassland and the mountain landscape above the camp. Read our Lotheni Nature Reserve guide for more about the area and planning a visit.
